Program Description

Event Details

In this five-week series, you will learn about the proven benefits of meditation.  During each 45-minute session the instructor will introduce different techniques, and introductory practices of mindfulness of the breath and body.  Gentle, slow-paced movements will help to release joints, stretch and tone muscles; breath practices will begin to release stress and deepen awareness; and meditation techniques will put it all together so that you can tap into inner joy and resilience throughout the day.  This class is for everyone — no prior experience needed. We highly recommend that you attend all five sessions to get the most benefit from the series. Please note that there is a separate registration page for each session.

About the Presenter

Monica Keady is a registered yoga teacher and meditation guide.  Monica has studied Yogic meditation, the blended principles of Western and Buddhist Psychology, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).  She has led meditation groups at Darien Senior Programs, the Darien YMCA, local yoga studios and Silver Hill Hospital.

Monica appreciates the serenity and resilience that movement and meditation generate.  Her mission is to share these teachings so that others may experience the gifts of a regular practice.

“No matter how we engage with ourselves and the world, the simple act of pausing can offer perspective and a chance to connect with our breath.” - Monica Keady
