Just in time for New York Botanical Garden's annual Orchid Show!

Learn how to keep your orchids thriving and reblooming year after year with garden enthusiast, Mike Tschebull.  Mike, who has raised orchids for many years, and considers it a long lasting hobby, will show you his tips and tricks for phalaenopsis, even paphiopedilum types of orchids, which are a little trickier.

You will learn step-by-step orchid care, including repotting, feeding, light requirements and watering, plus illustrations of exotic orchids you can raise in your home.

About the Presenter

Mike Tschebull, a former “finance guy” who worked for Bankers Trust and Credit Suisse mostly in Western Europe, has been an orchid fancier since when years ago, his son gave him one which he promptly killed by overwatering. He has learned enough over time through orchid-growing friends and growers to keep them alive and reasonably happy. The varieties available for purchase seem endless, which makes one learn new tricks continuously. Mike, who has lived in Darien for 40 years, is also interested in ephemeral local woodland wildflowers and native trees and shrubs.
