Program Description

Event Details

Create beautiful mosaics of flowers and work out those upper arm muscles at the same time. Join us for a session of pounding flowers where both the inner beauty of a flower and any pent up seasonal frustrations can be expressed. Materials to bring: hammer or rubber mallet (not a joke) and tweezers. If you have a favorite flower or fern you want to try to pound, bring it along.

About the Presenter

Erik Keller is a horticultural therapist and master gardener with 20-plus years of experience who has helped over 1,000 clients of all ages cope with physical, emotional, and mental challenges. Certifications from the University of Connecticut as a Master Gardener in 2000 and the New York Botanical Garden in Horticultural Therapy in 2009 have given Keller a strong base of knowledge from which he has been able to help his clients.

He currently manages the gardens and horticultural therapy programs at Ann’s Place, in Danbury, Connecticut, an organization that assists cancer patients and their families. He writes extensively about the healing power of horticultural therapy on a variety of social media platforms and on his website grohappy.com.
