Program Description

Event Details

Learn the ancient Japanese art of Shibori or indigo tie-dye. First students will learn techniques for tying, folding, and dipping fabric. Then students will learn how to prepare a vat of indigo. Catherine will go over linear, circular, and geometric shibori folds and binds to give everyone a full understanding of the resist process.

About the Presenter

Catherine Ruhl studied textiles and has been dyeing for 8+ years.  She enjoys all kinds of textile art and teaching other about it.
