About the Presenters

Hello! My name is Annika Mengwall and I am in my senior year at Darien High School. I hope to pursue a career in medicine, working with patients directly. I am fascinated by the way art can enhance the sciences, especially in patient communication and through empathy elevation. I am currently writing a short comic book to be published with the intention of instilling confidence in bystanders to promote citizen CPR. I am looking forward to performing research on the effectiveness of my book. This past summer, I was accepted to present at the 2023 International Graphic Medicine Conference in Toronto, and I was just interviewed on an upcoming episode of the Graphic Medicine Podcast. I am excited to present my interests in this research-based field at the Darien Library!

Hi! My name is Anna Haidinger and I am a senior at Darien High School. I am currently taking AP Biology with hopes to further study physical therapy in college. Outside of academics, I am a goalkeeper on the varsity soccer team and secretary of the Geography club. I'm excited to share my passion for science through my presentation at the Darien Library!
