Celebrate the weird and wonderful world of pickleball with author Erin McHugh!
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America. USA Pickleball statistics show the sport grew to 4.8 million players in 2021, an increase of more than 14%, and the New Yorker recently reported that pickleball “has exploded in popularity in recent years”—in particular among a younger demographic: the average player age is now 38.
In other words: surely you or someone you know has been bitten by the pickleball bug!
Easy to learn but impossible to master, people aren’t just dabbling in this up-and-coming activity—they are truly obsessed. Vanity Fair reports that pickleball has “won over everyone, from Leonardo DiCaprio to your grandparents.” As Serena Williams said to pickle devotee Ellen DeGeneres, “I love pickleball! This could be a second career for me!”
Join author Erin McHugh as she takes readers on a journey from the sport’s quirky origins to its modern-day cult following, and find out all there is to love about the world's fastest-growing sport.
