Do you love graphic novels? We sure do! The Children's Library is excited to announce that graphic novelist Lucy Knisley will join Darien Library for this Meet the Author event!

Hear about the behind-the-scenes details that go into creating graphic novels in an interactive presentation, including a drawing lesson from this New York Times best-selling author.

After the presentation, Barrett Bookstore will be selling copies of Lucy's books for a book signing. Anyone who purchases a book may get their book autographed by the author.

Recommended for ages 7 and up. Parents and teens welcome!

About the Author

Lucy Knisley is a critically acclaimed and award-winning comic creator. She lives in Chicago. She specializes in personal, confessional graphic novels and travelogues.

Her first book for children, Stepping Stones, is a middle-grade book about a girl who moves from the city to a farm in the country, and has to contend with farm chores, wild animals, and a whole new family dynamic. She is also the author of Apple Crush (the sequel to Stepping Stones) and You Are New. Her experience growing up as a foodie is also illustrated in the YA/Adult graphic novel Relish.
