Do you have a lot of "stuff"?  Maybe too much "stuff"?

Darien Library welcomes interior designer, stylist and professional organizer, Melora Johnson, of Sustainably Styled by Melora who will discuss how much of a negative impact having too much stuff can have on our lives in ways we may not have imagined.

Feeling stressed?  Who wouldn't be when you are constantly having to put away, clean, organize and live among so much stuff.  Do you really need it?  Do you even know what you have?  It's not just your emotional well being, although that certainly is important, but clutter steals your time, your money and your peace of mind.

You will hear some great stories, have the opportunity to share your own, and finally will receive some very practical tips for getting started on the path toward an uncluttered (or at least slightly less cluttered)  life.

About Melora Johnson

Melora Johnson believes that a clutter-free space is the first step towards a clutter-free mind. As a mother of three boys who has moved 17 times in 25 years, she knows how quickly chaos can take over a home, leading to stress and wasted time. Recognizing the toll clutter was taking on her family, she made a commitment to eliminate excess and embrace conscious consumerism.

Her lifelong commitment to helping others led her to serve on the board of Open Doors Shelter in South Norwalk. It was here that Melora came face to face with the reality that while some have way too much, there are plenty of others who have nothing. In response, she founded Open Doors' Community Closet, a local initiative that distributes clothing and household items, donated by those with too much, to those in need. Melora's strong commitment to the planet drove this passion as well. She embraced the opportunity to give a second life to clothes and housewares rather than sending them to landfills. A win win! In 2023, Melora decided to turn this passion into a business and Sustainably Styled was born.
