Darien Library is teaming up with The Westport Library to live stream the Fall 2023 Malloy Lecture in the Arts guest speaker, the esteemed author Neil Gaiman. Save a seat for our exclusive event, watch Neil Gaiman on the big screen as you enjoy refreshments and good company. 

About the Author

Neil Gaiman is widely recognized for his prolific writing career, encompassing renowned works like American Gods, Coraline, and the graphic novel series The Sandman. His captivating presence on stage and skillful oration consistently draw large audiences across the United States. Gaiman's journey to fame began with The Sandman, a 75-issue series that garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards, including the World Fantasy Award for Best Short Story in the realm of comics.

Transitioning from comics to novels, Gaiman continued his success with best-sellers like Good Omens, Neverwhere, Stardust, and Anansi Boys. American Gods earned him both the Hugo Award and Nebula Award, solidifying his place as a literary luminary. Gaiman's impressive literary range extends to captivating children’s and young adult books, such as Coraline, The Wolves in the Walls, and The Graveyard Book, which garnered numerous awards including the prestigious Newbery Medal.

His profound appreciation for libraries, which he credits as crucial to his personal and creative development, aligns seamlessly with his role as the featured speaker for the Fall 2023 Malloy Lecture. This event launches StoryFest, Connecticut's Largest Literary Festival.
