Learn the how, when, why, and are you serious? of humor. Examine the ways literary writing uses humor as cover for grief, political statement, and persuasion. Discuss ideas for generating and developing fiction/nonfiction narratives that use humor.
About the Presenter
Julia Strayer has stories in Glimmer Train, Kenyon Review online, Cincinnati Review, Post Road, Mid-American Review, and others, including The Best Small Fictions anthology. She recently won the 2022 New Ohio Review Fiction Contest and is a finalist in the 2022 CRAFT First Chapters contest for her novel in progress. She is a submissions editor for SmokeLong Quarterly and teaches creative writing at New York University.
