About the Presenter
Marcus D. McLarty is a multifaceted professional and dedicated community leader. A graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Marcus also completed the A Better Chance Program of Wilton. He is an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity - Zeta Phi Chapter, The Society of Collegiate Black Men, and the Prince Hall Free & Accepted Masons of New York City.
Marcus's career spans a diverse array of roles, including Youth Development Counselor in juvenile detention facilities, Assistant to the Fashion Editor of The Source magazine, and work in television production for networks such as Oxygen and VH1. He also served as the Executive Assistant and Scheduling & Advance Coordinator for New York City Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams. In his role as Program Coordinator for the federal program Bronx Healthy Start at Montefiore Hospital, Marcus played a key role in initiatives aimed at reducing infant and maternal mortality rates in the Bronx.
Currently, Marcus is the Founder and Contracted Consultant for Donovan Houston Consulting Services. Through this venture, he collaborates with community, social service, and educational organizations to achieve their strategic goals. His projects include community feeding programs, resource fairs, and awareness campaigns for maternal and infant health.
Beyond his professional achievements, Marcus is deeply committed to community service. He leads various initiatives to educate, enlighten, and serve inner-city communities, providing essential resources and services to address the challenges these communities face. His work continues to inspire and make a tangible impact on those around him.
