Program Description

Event Details

Everyone can read at Darien Library! Join us for a hands-on workshop focusing on our accessible technologies that can expand the world of reading for individuals with visual, perceptual, reading, or physical disabilities.

What you will learn:

In this workshop you will have an opportunity to learn about and explore the following technologies with guidance from Darien Librarians:

  • Talking Book Machines
  • Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) e-Books
  • LyriQ Text-to-Speech Reader
  • Merlin ultra Magnifier

If you find that these technologies would be useful to you, we will ensure you're all set to continue using them in the future.

We are proud to cosponsor this workshop with At Home in Darien, who will be providing At Home in Darien members with transportation to and from the program, and the Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CTLAB).
